June Highlights
Wow! The month of June... what a big month for Mike and I... it feels as though we have lived through 5 months with all the exciting happenings. I ran my first marathon down in Provo. And what's even more exciting...I hit my goal with a time of 4 hours and 6 minutes. Since then I have been contemplating whether or not to do another. The training is quite time consuming but upon completing the race I felt so accomplished, well my first feeling was I really need to find a bathroom pronto. By 6 pm race day I felt well enough to scarf down a jr. whopper. I think my real problem was sleep deprivation. If I ever do sign up for another race it will be SLC, where I can still sleep in my own bed and not have to be out the door by 2:30 am. Enough about me though...actually we will get back to me in a minute, but the real accomplishment of the month was Mike scoring in the 97th percentile on the DAT. Yeah baby... he definitely put in the hours studying though. I guess it is true- you reap what you sow. Now we will anxiously await for interview calls. He has applied to 10 different schools but they have yet to receive his scores. We are thinking he will begin hearing from schools in late July, early August. And darn it, Southwest just had an amazing deal on tickets but the offer is already expired...maybe we will get lucky again! (hopefully) So what other newsworthy events took place. Chelsey began working at The Little Gym on 13th East. I have worked for a total of 3 weeks thus far. I really enjoy the job...it is exhausting at times, but hopefully my stamina will continue to increase over time. Okay and last but not least...we now have a car and a half. You will have to meet our new Buddy. Have you figured it out yet? We purchased a baby blue scooter. It's Mike's new love...seriously I now have competition...haha. Actually, I am exaggerating a bit. Mike has wanted a scooter since he was 10 though so you can only imagine the sense of satisfaction that came over him as he was deemed its new owner. I drove it for the first time today, and it was a blast. Did you know the registration fees for a scooter are pretty comparable to a vehicle? It cost us almost $250 but $90 of it was sales tax so I guess maybe I am blowing this thing out of proportion a little bit. Still I was shocked when I heard the DMV employee say that will be $239 please. Anyways, we love our new mode of transportation. And Mike is in heaven, despite the fact he permanently has hat (helmet) head :) And that about wraps it up for June.
